Naresh Agarwal asks RS speaker to shift seats of Mulayam loyalists towards back of House
New Delhi [India], Feb 08(ANI): In a development signalling no end to the Yadav clan war, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Whip Naresh Agarwal on Wednesday sought directions from the Rajya Sabha Chairman to push the seats Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Verma Yadav, who are loyalists of party patriarch Mulayam Singh, towards the end of the House. Agarwal wrote a letter in this regard to Hamid Ansari, following which the chairman, pushed their seats at the back as opposed to their original allotment. The development is being seen as nothing but pure grudge towards Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Yadav for their loyalties towards founder of Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh, over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. "According to the Chairman's office, seats are allotted keeping in mind the number of Parties. After which, the number of seats are procured by the party at a particular spot. Going further, which seat would be taken by whom is decided by the Chief Whip of the party, which he gives in written and the plan is agreed upon. And that is how we have acted upon Naresh Agarwal's letter and have pushed the seats of MP's behind", Rajya Sabha office notified. It may be recalled that during the infamous Akhilesh and Mulayam's fallout, both Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Yadav tended their allegiance towards Mulayam, following which the party patriarch issued the ticket to Beni's son Rakesh Verma, which was later cancelled by Akhilesh. Rumours of Rakesh joining the BJP also surfaced post the development, adding to the tension. (ANI)
