Mau (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 15 (ANI): Expressing confidence that incumbent BJP would be ousted from power at the Centre in these elections, BSP supremo Mayawati said that voters will vote out "Namo-Namo" (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) and vote in "Jai Bhim" (BSP).
"I am confident that people will vote out 'Namo-Namo' from power at the Centre and will bring in 'Jai Bhim'," said Mayawati while addressing an election rally here on Wednesday.
She also asserted that Congress's NYAY scheme is no solution for eliminating poverty, and said that if voted to power her government will give permanent jobs in government and non-governmental sectors to the poorest in the society.
"Congress party promises to give Rs 6000 per month to the poor which is not a solution for their poverty. Congress has not found any permanent solution to eliminate poverty; such measures will hardly be of any help. If voted to power our government will give permanent jobs to the extremely poor families in the society in government and non-government sectors," said Mayawati.
She said that promises made by the Congress, BJP and other opposition parties in their respective manifestos are just an eye-wash and most of them remained unfulfilled.
"The promises made by parties like BJP, Congress and other opposition parties in their manifesto are just false and simply an attempt to woo voters. We all know what happened of the 'achhe din' (good days) promised by BJP," said Mayawati.
NYAY has been at the centre of Congress president Rahul Gandhi's poll campaign. The scheme promises to provide Rs 72,000 per year to those whose income is below Rs 12,000 monthly if Congress is voted to power.
"It is because of such fake promises in election manifestoes of parties that common people no longer trust the manifestos. BSP, therefore, does not have an election manifesto," she added.
She also said that the Congress party which had ruled at the Centre and most of the states for a long time period after independence is out of power from almost everywhere because of its wrong policies. She said that BJP too will not get to form government for a second time at the Centre because of their wrong policies.
"The Congress is out of power from the Centre and most of the states because of its wrong policies. BJP will also not come back to power because of its policies and style of functioning. Because of their communal, casteist and capitalist policies, BJP will definitely be ousted from power by the people in this election," she added. (ANI)
