Nagrota terror attack: NIA probe to take place under UAPA
New Delhi [India], Dec. 7 (ANI): The Standing Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday discussed about the attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Nagrota. Sources said the investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take place under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. In compliance with the instructions issued by the MHA, the NIA Police Station at New Delhi has re-registered the case that was registered at the Nagrota Police Station in Jammu. The case at the Nagrota Police Station was registered on the basis of information received earlier on November 29 that some heavily armed unknown terrorists on the directions of their foreign handlers had entered into the Army Camp at Nagrota, near the Baleeni Bridge and started indiscriminate firing upon the army personnel with the intention to kill them. The actions of the terrorists constitute scheduled offences under Sections 16, 18 and 20 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967. The NIA will also place the FIR before the agency's special court at Jammu. (ANI)
