New Delhi [India], January 9 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party's National President reviewed the party's preparedness for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections and gave his suggestions, Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva said following his party's election management committee meeting on Thursday.
Sachdeva exuded confidence that the BJP will come out victorious in the Delhi Assembly elections.
"In view of the Delhi Assembly elections, Union Minister and Delhi BJP President JP Nadda came to see the election preparations and he also gave us many suggestions. We are moving towards victory," Sachdeva said.
Reacting to Aam Aadmi Party's claim of 'voter deletion', Sachedva alleged that Arvind Kejriwal is trying to register "illegal voters."
"Arvind Kejriwal needs to tell the truth that ethe lectoral roll froze on December 23. AAP and its leaders are trying to register 'illegal voters' in Delhi. We have also informed the Election Commission of India about this," Sachdeva said.
Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal on January 6 claimed that a "large-scale" fraud in voter addition and deletions in the New Delhi Assembly seat is taking place.
In a post on X, Kejriwal cited a letter from Chief Minister Atishi sent to Delhi Chief Electoral Officer.
"Large-scale fraud taking place in voter additions and deletions in the New Delhi assembly," he said.
Sachdeva further targeted Arvind Kejriwal over the BJP's allegation of 'corruption' in the renovation of the CM's residence, saying "Sheesh Mahal is a museum of Arvind Kejriwal's corruption."
Earlier in the day, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gaurav Bhatia alleged that the contractors and liquor businessmen, who are "friends' of Kejriwal, have invested around Rs 100 crores of 'black money' in the construction of 'Sheesh Mahal'.
Addressing a press conference, Bhatia referenced an affidavit and said that Kejriwal had previously promised that he would not take any bungalow and would live like a common man. He further alleged that Kejriwal is now building a large bungalow, contradicting his earlier commitment, and demanded clarification from Kejriwal regarding this promise.
This escalation in the war of words between the BJP and AAP comes as Delhi heads towards its assembly elections, scheduled for February 5. The counting of votes will be done on February 8. (ANI)
