Nabha Jailbreak: Congress warn's of large scale assassinations
New Delhi [India], Nov. 27 (ANI): Former chief of Punjab unit of Congress party Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday warned of large scale assassination taking place in the next year's state assembly polls post Nabha Jailbreak. "I am worried that there will be bloodshed in the upcoming election. The important leader whom Sukhbir Singh Badal could not silenced will now do it with the help of these people. Assassination will take place on a large scale," said Bajwa. Bajwa said the election commission should intervene in the matter and called for president's rule. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday sought a report from the Punjab Government over the jailbreak in which the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief and noted terrorist Harminder Singh Mintoo and four other prisoners escaped from the Nabha Jail today. 10 armed men, in police uniform, broke into the jail and helped the prisoners' escape. The four prisoners who escaped along Mintoo are Gurpreet Singh, Vicky Gondra, Nitin Deol and Vikramjeet Singh. Mintoo was arrested by the Punjab Police from Delhi's IGI airport on November 2014 when he was on his way back from Thailand. The 47-year-old is wanted in 10 terror-related cases, including the 2008 attack on Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and 2010 recovery of explosives at Halwara Air Force station.
