Dausa (Rajasthan) [India], November 22 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief JP Nadda on Wednesday accused the Rajasthan government led by the Congress party of involvement in all-pervasive corruption.
Nadda was addressing a public rally in Dausa while campaigning for party candidate Shankar Sharma.
He said, "Na aakash chhoda, na paatal chhoda. Everywhere, there is corruption in the state. Wherever there is Congress, there is corruption, looting, oppression and fraud. Wherever there is BJP, there is development".
"Rajasthan is the soil of saints, reformers, and fighters. But the Ashok Gehlot government put 'Grahan' all over the state. November 25 is the day to get the 'Grahan' off the state. Is it not true that Rajasthan is now at the number one spot in terms of corruption, atrocities against women, religious appeasement and atrocities against Dalits and backward classes?" added the BJP chief.
"We have to change the picture and fate of the state. As per the National Crime Records Bureau, the state tops the list when it comes to atrocities against women. The government hoodwinked the farmers. Did they waive off the loans of the state farmers?" JP Nadda asked.
The BJP has fielded Shankar Sharma from the Dausa assembly constituency against the Congress's sitting MLA Murari Lal Meena.
In the 2018 Rajasthan assembly polls, BJP's Sharma lost to Congress's Meena.
The politics of Rajasthan have revolved around the Senior Teacher 2nd Grade Competitive Examination 2022 Paper Leak case for a long time, with the state government being put in the dock by the opposition parties.
The incident took a fresh turn when the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at the residence of Rajasthan Congress Chief, Govind Singh Dotasara, which led to a massive kerfuffle in the state, with the Congress accusing the ruling BJP of "misusing" the probe agencies.
The alleged paper leaks scam case has been at the top of the agenda list of the opposition parties to target the Ashok Gehlot government.
Meanwhile, the state is to conduct polls on November 25 and the counting of votes will be done on December 3. (ANI)
