Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 14 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil on Thursday said that his son Sujay did not consult him before joining the BJP.

Sujay did not consult me before joining BJP. About my resignation from the post of Leader of Opposition, I would say that I will follow whatever my party leadership asks me to do,” Radhakrishna told media here.

Sujay joined the BJP on Tuesday and told media that he has “taken this decision against” his father’s wishes.

“I don’t know how much my parents will support this decision but I will try my best to make my family proud by working under the guidance of BJP... I think the Chief Minister and other BJP MLAs have been supportive and helped me take this decision... BJP MLA Sunil Kardile has supported me and guided me during the last five years and I am thankful to him for helping me reach here," Sujay told media soon after joining the BJP in presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Meanwhile, Radhakrishna said he will not campaign for NCP candidates in coming Lok Sabha elections.

“Sharad Pawar made a statement against my father which shows that he has no respect for me or my family. So, there is no question of me going to campaign for NCP candidate in Ahmednagar. I won't campaign for anyone else either,” he said. (ANI)
