"MVA will form government in state": Congress' Nana Patole exudes confidence ahead of Maharashtra assembly polls

As Maharashtra assembly is set to go to polls on October 20, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Tuesday exuded confidence that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), of which Congress is a part, will form government in the state.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (ANI): As Maharashtra assembly is set to go to polls on October 20, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Tuesday exuded confidence that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), of which Congress is a part, will form government in the state.
"People in huge numbers are coming to file the nomination papers. People celebrate it like a festival. This election will be one-sided and MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) will form government in the state," he said.
Patole who filed his nomination on Tuesday from Sakoli Assembly seat said that there will be a change of government in thst state.
"There is going to be a change of government in Maharashtra, this is for sure. MVA government with a majority will be formed in Maharashtra..."
Opposition MVA, comprising of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), is looking to regain power in the state against the Mahayuti alliance, which consists of three parties--Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
Earlier today, Ajit Pawar's NCP released its fourth list of candidates on Tuesday, containing two names for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly election.
The list includes the names of Devendra Bhuyar and Shankar Mandekar. The party has fielded Bhuyar from Morshi Constituency in Solapur district, while Mandekar fielded Bhor from Pune.
Meanwhile, the filing of nomination papers for candidates will end on Tuesday. The scrutiny of nominations will be done tomorrow and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 4.
A total of 4,426 nomination papers of 3,259 candidates have been filed till October 28 for the elections in 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the Chief Election Officer's office said.
The Model Code of Conduct for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly General Election came into force on October 15. (ANI)
