Muslims pray for Amma's speedy recovery outside Apollo Hospital
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Oct.5 (ANI): Scores of Muslims thronged outside the Apollo Hospital here on Wednesday where Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa is being administered and performed prayers for her speedy recovery. Holding portraits of their beloved Chief Minister, they chanted prayers in front of the hospital. "We are here to offer our prayers for her speedy recovery. I hope she quickly recovers and takes charge of her office because it is only under her regime that Tamil Nadu is free from communal forces and terrorists' forces. Her government has taken special care of the minorities, especially the Muslim community," said one of the locals. The hospital management earlier on Monday said that she was recovering fast and continued to improve and was responding adequately to the comprehensive treatment being given to her. The Madras High Court on Tuesday instructed the concerned officials of Tamil Nadu to inform it about the Chief Minister's health by Wednesday, after a petition was filed by an activist named T. Ramasamy to prevent rumours spreading about her health. The PIL sought a direction to the state principal secretary, Governor, chief secretary, home secretary, Apollo Hospitals and others to file a health status report along with photographs in the court. Jayalalithaa has been hospitalised since September 23 after she complained of fever and dehydration. Special prayers for the Chief Minister's speedy recovery are being performed by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) cadres and her supporters in various parts of the state the day since she has been admitted.
