Muslims observe Prophet Mohammad's birth anniversary in Tripura
Agartala(Tripura)[India], Dec. 12 (ANI): Muslims took part in a religious procession at Indranagar, Jama-e-Masjid here on Monday to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad. The Holy Prophet was born on the twelfth day of Rabee-ul-Awwal in 570 CE in Mecca. Devotees in large numbers participated in the biggest congregation to spread the message of peace and development of their revered "Messenger of Allah". "We hope and pray for the development, peace and prosperity of the people of the state and so that we can stay together in this mix-cultured society," said Md Abdul Hasem, a Muslim leader. Thousands of people also offered prayers at Mosques and Shrines and took part in procession taken out at various places. (ANI)
