Mumbai: Two dead, one injured in truck collision
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 13 (ANI): At least two persons were killed and one gravely injured as two trucks collided with one another on the Western Express Highway here in Kandivali in the late hours of Friday. The two trucks involved in the accident were loaded with fish to be transported to Crawford market before heading towards Karnataka. On the way, the truck driver upon approaching a slippery patch lost control of the steering, due to which the truck overturned in the middle of the road and was hit by the second truck approaching from behind. The two cleaners in the first truck died on the spot, while the fatally injured driver was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital with the help of the fire brigade and the Mumbai Police. As a result of the accident, a part of the Western Express Highway was closed for travel. During this time, the officials on the spot removed the truck which was in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. A case of accidental death has been registered in the Samata Nagar Police Station and an investigation is underway. (ANI)
