"Multiple BJP leaders made comments in 'unparliamentary' language..." :SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Bidhuri's remarks

Speaking to the reporters in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, Yadav said, "People are not identified only by their faces, but by their words too. It is not only one leader of BJP to have such views. If you look at the history, you will find that there have been multiple BJP leaders to have made comments in 'unparliamentary' language. The parliament should impose complete restrictions on them".

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 22 (ANI): Reacting to the communal remarks by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said that the Parliament should impose complete restrictions on him
Speaking to the reporters in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, Yadav said, "People are not identified only by their faces, but by their words too. It is not only one leader of BJP to have such views. If you look at the history, you will find that there have been multiple BJP leaders to have made comments in 'unparliamentary' language. The parliament should impose complete restrictions on them".
Opposition leaders on Friday came down heavily over Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s communal remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Danish Ali in Lok Sabha on Thursday and sought strict action against him.
Bidhuri's communally insensitive remarks, made during the discussion on Chandrayan-3 Mission in Lok Sabha, have been expunged from the proceedings.
Sources said Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took note of Ramesh Bidhuri's remarks and gave him a warning.
The BJP also issued a show cause notice to party MP Ramesh Bidhuri on the instruction of party president JP Nadda for his use of unparliamentary language against BSP MP Danish Ali, sources said.
Ali has given an ultimatum of leaving the Parliament if the Speaker does not conduct an enquiry into the matter.
Notably, once-arch rivals Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) were once partners in an alliance in Uttar Pradesh during the Lok Sabha polls in 2019, eyeing the maximum number of seats in the election.
Later, the two parties parted ways. Now, Akhilesh Yadav's SP is a partner in the INDIA bloc, an alliance of 28 opposition parties that came together to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Meanwhile, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav further attacked the BJP, stating, "The world is looking at our democratic system. They are observing what policies are made by the lawmakers here. Now, at first, the BJP introduced itself and spread falsehood by bringing the Women's Reservation Bill. Now, such a language was used by their MP. The people are looking at all of this. They will give a befitting reply to them".
Demanding action against the BJP MP, Akhilesh Yadav said, "We hope Danish Ali gets justice and action is taken against BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri".
Speaking on the Women's Reservation Bill, the SP Chief said, "Our party has been supporting it since day one. But there should be some more aspects included in the bill. Minority women should be included. But when will it be implemented? They are not able to answer on unemployement, and inflation so they just gave a message on the pretense of the bill. It is an incomplete bill which will provide no benefit to women".
Taking potshots at the ruling BJP, Yadav added, "You did not initiate the census. When is it going to be implemented?"
It is worth mentioning that the Women's Reservation Bill cleared its final legislative hurdle at the Rajya Sabha on Thursday with 214 members voting in support and none against.
Earlier on Wednesday, the bill was shown the green flag by the Lok Sabha with the brute majority of 454 votes in favour and just 2 against.
The Rajya Sabha had earlier passed the Women’s Reservation Bill in 2010 during the Congress-led UPA government but it was not taken up in the Lok Sabha and subsequently lapsed in the lower House of Parliament. (ANI)
