Mulayam's ideology is against Congress, but things have changed now: SP
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan. 29 (ANI): Unperturbed by Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav's unhappiness over the alliance with the Congress, party leader Juhi Singh on Sunday said that Netaji's ideology was always been against the grand old party, but the times have changed now. Appreciating the joint press briefing followed by road show by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Singh said they will together form a new government in the state. "Netaji belongs to an ideology which was always against Congress, but situation has changed now. Today, Rahul Gandhi was also there. They (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh) held a very successful and positive press conference and also the road show...We understand Netaji's feelings. We fully understand them, but the Samajwadi Party with the Congress is going to form new government with majority," Singh told ANI. Responding to Mulayam's allegation of squandering chances of party's own minister by giving their tickets to Congress ministers, Singh said it happens in every election, adding that the sole motive should be to form Akhilesh-led government. "It happens in every election. Some people get ticket, some don't...I hope, all of us who work for the party understand the importance of the alliance and if we are not getting tickets, our only motto and work should be to form the government headed by Akhilesh Yadav," she said. Mulayam Singh, in an exclusive interview to ANI earlier this evening, expressed his anger saying that he is against the SP-Congress alliance and adding that the party had the ability to win the elections on its own shoulders. The SP supremo asserted that he would not campaign for the alliance in the assembly elections. (ANI)
