Mulayam Singh Yadav's name at top in 2nd list of SP campaigners for Lok Sabha polls

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), [India], Mar 24 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party, earlier on Sunday announced the list of candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh including fielding of party chief Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh - the parliamentary constituency of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), [India], Mar 24 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party, earlier on Sunday announced the list of candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh including fielding of party chief Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh - the parliamentary constituency of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav
 The party had released the first list of 40 poll campaigners for the state that included party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and senior leaders like Ramgopal Yadav, Azam Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Yadav and others. The list made no mention of partriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Later on Sunday, the party released another list of campaigners for the second phase of polling, in which Mulayam Singh Yadav was the first name on it. It was announced earlier this month that party patriarch will contest from Mainpuri constituency.
The second list of poll-campaigners comprises 40 names and these leaders will campaign for various Lok Sabha constituencies that will go for the poll in the second phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, Akhilesh and Mulayam, some of the other leaders who will campaign for the party are -- Javed Ali Khan, Naresh Uttam Patel, Tej Pratap Yadav and Rajpal Kashyap. 
There are 80  Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh where SP, BSP and RLD are contesting in the alliance. The SP will contest on 37 seats, BSP on 38 and RLD on 3 seats. The alliance has left two seats, Rae Bareli and Amethi, for the Congress.
Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held from April 11 and will go on till May 19 in seven phases. The polls in Uttar Pradesh will be held in all seven phases.
The dates of polling in Uttar Pradesh are April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12 and 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.  (ANI)
