Mulayam lashes out at Jaitley's 'lack of courage'
Agra (Uttar Pradesh)[India] May 12 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday asserted that it was a shame for Indian soldiers to be "killed in our own territory." His comments come in the wake of two soldiers being killed and mutilated by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control, where it had beheaded Lance Naik Hemraj in 2013. Questioning the 'concerned minister', Yadav said in order to counter Pakistan, the Indian Army should cross the border and launch attacks. "I would like to ask the Centre and the concerned Union Minister if he does not have the courage to order troops to go attack Pakistan to their own turf, when they are killing our soldiers here in India," asked Mulayam. Commenting on the vulnerability of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to be tampered, Mulayam suggested that the Prime Minister must bring back the system of voting through ballot paper, since the 'thappa' was less prone to tampering. "The EVMs are very easy to be misused. I would urge the Prime Minister to discard the machines and bring back the system of voting through ballot paper," said Mulayam. The Samajwadi Party, along with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has relentlessly questioned the authenticity of the EVMs used in the electoral process, following an alleged case of tampering during the recently concluded assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. While the opposition accused the Samajwadi Party of making allegations as a result of the party's poor performance in the polls, the AAP, in an attempt to defend their stance, recently conducted a live demonstration of how the EVMs can be tampered with at a special session of the Delhi Assembly.
