MP: Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla touches BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya's feet at Indore event

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 9 (ANI): Amid the heightened political fervour in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, a moment of rare bonhomie between two potential rivals was seen as Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla touched the feet of his contender, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya during a programme in Indore.
In a video that is now being widely shared on social media, the Congress MLA, who represents the Indore 1 constituency and in all likelihood be fielded by his party from there, touched the feet of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, whose name has already been announced for the same seat.

The video of Shukla's act of respect for the BJP general secretary soon became a subject of liking, sharing, reposting and forwarding on social media. The BJP leader also reciprocated with a pat on Shukla's back.

Notably, Vijayvargiya has been given a ticket by the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Indore-1 assembly constituency from where Shukla is the present MLA.
Congress is yet to release its list of candidates for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls while the ruling BJP has already announced two lists of candidates
Earlier, the Central Election Committee meeting of Congress to finalise candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections was underway in the national capital on Saturday.
Congress leaders KC Venugopal and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath were present at the meeting.
Earlier, on October 3, the Congress screening committee held a meeting to decide on candidates for Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.
Ahead of the electoral battle, the ruling BJP and the Congress have intensified their campaigns, taking potshots at each other.
The polls, which are likely to be scheduled sometime between October and November this year, will see people electing legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states going to polls at the end of this year. (ANI)
