MP assembly polls: AAP state president Rani Agarwal to contest from Singrauli constituency

Rani Aggarwal is also the mayor of Singrauli Municipal Corporation. She will be contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s candidate Ramniwas Shah and Congress' candidate Renu Shah from the seat.

Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 23 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday announced that state president of the party Rani Agarwal would contest the forthcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls from Singrauli constituency.
Rani Aggarwal is also the mayor of Singrauli Municipal Corporation. She will be contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s candidate Ramniwas Shah and Congress' candidate Renu Shah from the seat.
The AAP has so far declared candidates for 70 out of 230 assembly seats in the state for the poll scheduled next month.
The party released its first list of 10 candidates on September 8 and after that released the second list of 29 candidates on October 2. Recently on October 21, AAP released its third list of 30 candidates.
On the other hand, the ruling BJP has so far declared 228 candidates in five separate lists. 39 candidates each in first and second lists, a single name in third list, 57 candidates in the fourth list and 92 names in the fifth list. The party is yet to declare candidates for Guna (Scheduled Caste) and Vidisha seat.
Besides, the Congress has issued 229 candidates out of 230 so far and it is yet to announce the candidate for Amla (Scheduled Caste) seat in Betul district.
Madhya Pradesh will undergo assembly polls on November 17. Through the polls, the state will elect legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies. The election would be conducted in only one phase in the state and the counting would be done on December 3. (ANI)
