Month long Dussehra celebrations continues in Kullu-Manali
Kullu-Manali (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Oct. 14 (ANI): The Kullu-Manali Dussehra celebrations will continue for a month. Lord Ram is known as Raghunath in Himachal Pradesh. He is seated on a swing and a traditional Sobha Yatra commences from a temple in Sultanpur to the Dholpur ground. The wooden Rath or chariot is pulled by thousands of people. People come to this place from various villages all decked in their traditional finery to witness this Rath yatra celebration. The Rath Yatra starts in the evening and there are more than hundreds of gods and goddesses who participate in this celebration and grace the occasion. Dussehra celebrations in Kullu-Manali started in 1660 and the tradition continues till date. The Governor, Acharya Dev Vrat flagged off the festival. He also wished the people on this occasion.
