Modi will hold rally in Amritsar soon: Narendra Singh Tomar
New Delhi [India], Jan.18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a public rally in the `holy city' of Amritsar ahead of assembly elections in Punjab. Union Minister of Steel, Mines and Employment Narendra Singh Tomar today said that the requests for the election rally had already been forwarded to Prime Minister and his office in this connection and the dates would be finalised after seeing his tour programs for the Uttar Pradesh and Goa election campaigns. Tomar who was here to preside over the filing of the nomination of BJP-SAD candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha by-poll Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, said that the BJP-SAD alliance in Punjab would create history by registering success in the elections in the state for the third consecutive time. He said Chhina would emerge a winner in the polls and would be representative of the people of Amritsar in Modi government in Centre. He also hit out at Navjot Singh Sidhu when asked about his entry into Congress. ``Sidhu had been a good player, but sports and elections are two different things. Sidhu will face the united strength of the SAD-BJP in the Punjab elections and he will learn a befitting lesson'', said Tomar. When asked about Sidhu's attack on the BJP, he said that the national party is not concerned with what he says as the people of the country have now come to know the real face of Sidhu. He recounted the pro-poor and pro-farmers policies of the Modi government and how Prime Minister Modi had been working day and night to bring the nation to the parity of the developed nations of the world. On reports of Punjab BJP President Vijay Sampla offering to resign or resigning from his post, Tomar said nothing of the sort had happened and Sampla himself had issued a clarification. He said there was no differences of opinion amongst the BJP leaders relating the allotment of party tickets to various candidate for Punjab assembly. (ANI)
