Modi prostrated in front of China over Doklam standoff, claims Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi [India], Mar 11 (ANI): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that he had prostrated in front of China over the Doklam standoff.
"While Modi was drinking tea with Chinese President (Xi Jinping), Doklam incident occurred. PM Modi went to China and held a meeting without an agenda. He bowed before China with folded hands and said (to Chinese leadership) keep Doklam with you and that no one in India will come to know and the media will be tackled. The matter over. This is the reality of Modi ji," Rahul said while addressing a booth level meeting here.
"China is aware that our Prime Minister is weak and a coward. Prime Minister Modi held a meeting without agenda in China after Doklam standoff," claimed the Congress leader.
Rahul said if the Congress party is voted to power, India will compete with China.
The Doklam standoff was triggered in June 2017 when the Chinese side tried to alter the status quo there by building. Finally, in August 2017, both India and China announced that they had withdrawn all their troops from Doklam. The face-off ended through negotiations after 73 days.
Rahul also hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying its government in 1999 had  handed over Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar to Pakistan in 1999.
"Jaish-e-Mohammad was behind the bomb blast in Pulwama. Today’s NSA chief Ajit Doval handed over Masood Azhar in Kandahar. Ajit Doval took Masood Azhar in a plane and handed him over in Kandahar. The BJP released Masood Azhar (from jail)," Rahul said.
Azhar was among three terrorists released in exchange of the hostages of hijacked Indian Airlines plane IC-814 in 1999. The plane was hijacked during its flight from Kathmandu to Delhi and taken to Kandahar.
Slamming divisive politics, Rahul asked the party workers, "Whose India do you want -- of (Mahatma) Gandhi or Godse?"
Taking pot shots at Modi, he said, "Chowkidar says I came to fight corruption, I have 56-inch chest, make me chowkidar, not Prime Minister."
Attacking Modi over controversial Rafale fighter jets deal, he said, "We asked four questions on Rafale and for 1.5 hours 'chowkidaar' ji spoke on Congress, Indiraji, Rajiv ji but did not utter a single word on Anil Ambani."
Talking about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rahul told party workers that the Congress has to win all the seven seats at stake in Delhi.
"The Congress has to win all the seven seats in Delhi," he said.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday announced the schedule for the 17th Lok Sabha election, which will be held in seven phases beginning April 11. The final phase of voting will take place on May 19. The counting of votes will be done on May 23. (ANI)
