Mobile blood collection and transportation starts in Tripura

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Feb.1 (ANI): To improve the standard of healthcare and services and boost the blood collection mechanism, the Tripura government with financial help from the National Health Mission, has launched mobile blood collection and transportation service in three districts.

Mobile blood collection and transportation starts in Tripura
Agartala (Tripura) [India], Feb.1 (ANI): To improve the standard of healthcare and services and boost the blood collection mechanism, the Tripura government with financial help from the National Health Mission, has launched mobile blood collection and transportation service in three districts. Tripura Health Minister Badal Chowdhury flagged off the mobile vans equipped with the latest facilities for collecting and transporting blood from the state referral hospital IGM hospital in presence of senior health officials. Choudhury said that mobile blood collection and transportation vans' though shall be stationed in West district, Gomati district and North Tripura district but shall be providing services across the state during accidents and disasters and for fast and easy availability of blood in order to save lives. The van will help the department to hold camp in the remote areas for blood collection and also to send blood to the rural hospitals on demand. Tripura, which stands top in voluntary blood donation have already set up blood bank in all the district hospitals and almost regularly, blood donation camps are being organised across the state to cater the need. After lunching the mobile blood collection and transportation van the blood can be sent to remote areas. (ANI)
