New Delhi [India], Dec. 12 (ANI): Extending her greetings on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday said the message of brotherhood and compassion is the guiding light for humanity. "May we all re-dedicate ourselves to such values, she added. Smt Gandhi has also wished a joyous time and a peaceful year for fellow countrymen in India and abroad," Gandhi said in a statement. Milad-un-Nabi is being observed today in different parts of the country. President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Hamid Ansari have greeted the people on the occasion. The President hoped that the Holy Prophet's message inspires everyone to work towards universal brotherhood, compassion, and tolerance. In his message, President Mukherjee said everyone should recall the life and ideals of the Prophet and re-dedicate themselves to the service of humanity. Conveying greetings and best wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion, Vice-President Ansari said the Holy Prophet showed humanity the righteous path of compassion and universal brotherhood. He hoped that the Prophet's eternal message continue to guide in building a peaceful and harmonious society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also extended his greetings on the occasion of the Milad-un-Nabi. In a tweet, the Prime Minister hoped that the occasion will deepen the spirit of harmony and unity in the society and always there will be peace and prosperity. (ANI)
