New Delhi [India], March, 22 (ANI): In wake of the ongoing Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls has been postponed to April 23. The counting of the votes will be held on April 26. Earlier the MCD polls were scheduled to be held on April 22 and counting for the same was to take place on April 25. The CBSE exams for class 10 and 12 began on March 9, 2017. The class 10 will end on April 10 while the class 12 exams will continue till April 29. Meanwhile, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used in the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to the Election Commission not to use EVMs and rather conduct the polling through ballot system. This comes following allegations from few politicians that the EVMs could be tampered with. The poll panel has started sending requisitions to various departments of Central and state governments including civic bodies to spare their employees for the same. (ANI)
