Mayawati's dreams of holding 'kingly' position shattered: BJP
New Delhi [India], Mar. 12 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday expressed his delight over the historic win of the saffron party in Uttar Pradesh and said that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo's dreams of coming to power have been trampled upon for good. "The BSP has suffered a crushing defeat and it is not easy to digest the loss that they have suffered. Mayawati was dreaming of holding a king maker position, especially to become the chief minister by proxy but all those dreams have be shattered by us," Prakash told ANI. Taking a jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Prakash further stated that he has become irrelevant in national politics. "After the results, Arvind Kherjwal has proved himself becoming irrelevant in national politics. He has got the biggest blow from Punjab and Goa too. He should stop trying and not make a fool out of himself," said Prakash. Resonating similar views, BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said it is the victory of the people and their trust. "The campaign played by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah has paid off well in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The people have decided to support the BJP and it is the victory of the people and their trust. As I have promised, I will stand by every word and guarantee that I will do my duties with positive actions," Singh told ANI. "This election has broken caste barrier in Uttar Pradesh; it was nice to see Muslims standing with BJP. This message and act will surely go a long way making the party stronger and better with its hold, added Singh. The BJP won with a clear majority in Uttarakhand with 57 seats in a 70-member assembly, ousting the Congress led by chief minister Harish Rawat and in Uttar Pradesh, the saffron party saw an unprecedented victory with 321 seats, while the Congress-Samajwadi party alliance bagged 54, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got 19 and others 18.
