New Delhi, Aug. 12 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for failing to maintain law and order in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati's demand came in the wake of shooting the BJP leader Brijpal Teotia in Ghaziabad on Thursday night. "At present, law and order in Uttar Pradesh is getting worse. In this situation, if the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is not able to handle the government, especially in the matter of law and order, then he should resign. It will be more beneficial for the people of Uttar Pradesh," Mayawati told ANI. Teotia sustained severe injuries after unidentified assailants opened fire on his SUV on Rawli Road while he was travelling from Murad Nagar to Ghaziabad. Teotia sustained five gunshot wounds in the 8 p.m. gun attack. He was travelling with five others, including his bodyguards. All of them sustained bullet injuries. (ANI)
