Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], August 25 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Diya Kumari urged her party workers in Rajasthan that the Congress needs to be uprooted from the state in the upcoming assembly elections because it is not just a matter of power but about protecting women's dignity and respect.
"The rate at which atrocities against women have increased in Rajasthan we have to uproot this government and throw it away," the Rajsamand MP said speaking at a divisional-level conference of BJP Mahila Morcha.
In an attack on the Ashok Gehlot government over incidents of rape and crime against women, Diya Kumari said, "The sisters and daughters of Rajasthan will not tolerate this atrocity. It is a shame that Rajasthan has become the rape capital of India. Most rape incidents are happening in Rajasthan. The Gehlot government ministers are promoting rape incidents."
The BJP MP hit out at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over the purported 'Red diary' saying, "All acts of corruption of the Gehlot government are in the red diary."
Appealing to women party workers, Diya Kumari said that they have the biggest responsibility in this election. "We, women have the biggest responsibility in elections. If there is even a slight mistake, this government will be formed again. The Congress has to be defeated in this election in all the 200 seats," he said.
Earlier in August, sacked Rajasthan Minister Rajendra Gudha held up the ‘Red Diary’ and also read a couple of pages from it saying that he will continue revealing more secrets in the coming days.
The Minister was removed from his post hours after he flagged the incident of four women being found dead in Jodhpur, saying that the Congress government should look within before criticizing the Centre over the Manipur situation. Later, he was marshalled out of the Rajasthan Assembly after he demonstrated against the Gehlot government, holding up the 'Red Diary'.
Rajasthan will go to polls towards the end of this year, along with Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The BJP and the Congress are in direct contest with each other in these three crucial state assembly polls which will serve as a litmus test for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year. (ANI)
