"Matter of pride": Sanjay Raut praises Indian Army over action against Pakistan

"The Indian army's action against the terrorists in Pakistan is a matter of pride. The Indian army is a professional army, and it has a reputation for not attacking anyone without a reason, like Pakistan. You have killed 26 innocent civilians of ours, and still we attacked and destroyed only terrorist camps and no civilian area or military sites. We have the right to protect ourselves, and our army has done that," Raut told ANI.

New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): As India strikes against Pakistan in retaliation against the Pahalgam terror attack, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday praised the Indian Army for its action against terrorists in Pakistan, saying that it was a matter of pride. He said that the Indian Army had a reputation for not attacking anyone without a reason.
He said that India has only attacked terrorist camps and not civilian or military sites.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP said he could not attend the meeting after the Pahalgam attack because it was called in a hurry. Raut asserted that the focus must be on internal security during wartime.
"However, we had demanded that action be taken within 24 hours and an all-party meeting be called after that," Raut stated.
"When the Pahalgam attack took place, the meeting was called in a hurry, and hence we didn't attend the meeting. We wanted the action to be taken within 24 hours, and then we would join the meeting. However, now action has been taken. Today, a meeting has been called again, which is important, so we will attend that. There should be a focus on internal security," he added.
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the launch of Operation Sindoor, in response to the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack, the centre on Thursday convened an all-party meeting to brief political parties on its action against terrorism.
Union Minister JP Nadda arrived at the Parliament Annexe building to attend the all-party meeting. Congress MP and LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Malikarjun Kharge also remain present in the meeting.
Ahead of the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes that the country shouldn't be divided in such a situation.
"Operation Sindoor has been successfully executed by the armed forces, and the government is very clear about it. PM Modi's intentions have already been known to the world. The PM desires that in such a situation, we shouldn't be divided. It is a situation where every Indian must be united," he told ANI. (ANI)
