New Delhi [India], October 9 (ANI): BJP MP Naveen Jindal expressed happiness and dubbed it a "matter of great pride" on his mother and independent candidate Savitri Jindal's "historic victory" from Haryana's Hisar Assembly consituency.
Savitri Jindal won by 18941 votes against Congress' Ram Niwas Rara in Hisar. Savitri secured 49231 votes closely followed by Rara with 30290 votes. BJP's Kamal Gupta came third with 17385 votes.
Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, Naveen Jindal said, "I went to Hisar and met my mother and also took her blessings. Thousands of people had gathered there, I met all of them. It is a matter of great pride for me that the people of Hisar fought this election for Savitri Jindal and she got a historic victory in Hisar."
"She has registered a historic victory in Hisar with the biggest margin. This victory has happened not once but twice," Jindal added.
BJP contested Kamal Gupta denying ticket to Savitri Jindal that led to her contesting the seat as an independent.
Speaking further, Naveen Jindal said that Savitri Jindal has "become a source of inspiration."
"She did not care at all that she did not get a ticket from BJP. Savitri Jindal has only one aim to serve the people of Hisar. Savitri Jindal entered the field to serve the people of Hisar and the people fought this election for her. But I could not go to her election, but thousands of sons and daughters of Hisar were busy in the election for her. I met my mother Savitri Jindal in the morning, I celebrated her victory with her and there was a very good atmosphere," Naveen Jindal said.
On BJP set to form government in Haryana for the third consecutive term, Jindal said that the people of Haryana know that "PM Modi has a lot of affection for Haryana."
"The people of Haryana have shown faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have given BJP victory. The people of Haryana know that PM Modi has a lot of affection for Haryana. PM Modi has spent a lot of time in Haryana and has visited every district and every village," Jindal said while speaking to ANI.
"The people of Haryana have expressed faith in the leadership of PM Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh. Resolutions like working for every section have been kept in the BJP's Sankalp Patra and we will start working for every section in Haryana," Jindal added.
Regarding the politics of the blame game on EVMs by Congress, Naveen Jindal said, "That where Congress wins, they do not see any flaw in EVMs, but where the Congress party is losing, Congress wants to blame EVM."
"Congress should hold the factionalism going on in the party responsible for the defeat. The people of Haryana have not shown faith in the Congress party, rather the people have shown faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party and given victory to the party. The Congress party should take this matter very gracefully. They should work for the interests of Haryana and the people," he added.
The BJP won 48 seats in Haryana assembly, getting absolute majority in the 90-member House. The party is poised to form its third successive government in the state. (ANI)
