Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], August 28 (ANI): Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) MP Hanuman Beniwal on Thursday took a dig at political rivals following the Rajasthan High Court's decision to cancel the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination.
"Many leaders who love speaking on TV will now compete to take credit for this victory," Beniwal remarked.
A celebratory atmosphere was witnessed at the RLP office in Jaipur as party workers marked the court's decision by dancing to DJ music and bursting firecrackers.
Speaking to ANI, Beniwal hailed the court's verdict as a victory for the youth and the judiciary.
"The BJP and Congress were colluding and several BJP officials tried to prevent the cancellation to protect certain individuals. Today, the RLP and the youth of Rajasthan have triumphed. This sends a strong message across the country that the judiciary still has upright individuals," he said.
He credited the party's sustained efforts with gaining the trust of the youth. "After a long fight, the RLP has gained the confidence of the youth with this cancellation. The High Court has validated our stance," he added.
Beniwal further announced that the RLP would chart its next strategy from the protest site in Jaipur and vowed to continue the agitation until all the accused are arrested.
Earlier in the day, the Rajasthan High Court cancelled the 2021 SI recruitment process amid allegations of widespread collusion and paper leaks.
The hearing was conducted by Justice Sameer Jain, who had reserved the verdict on August 14 after hearing arguments from all parties. Petitions seeking cancellation of the recruitment were filed on August 13, 2024.
During the hearings, the state government clarified that it did not intend to cancel the recruitment at that stage, a stance also supported by the selected candidates who opposed the move. (ANI)
