Manipur polls: PM Modi's fondness for figure fifteen premise of his fake politics, scoffs Aiyar
New Delhi [India], Feb. 26 (ANI): Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Sunday said the former's fondness for figure fifteen is the premise of his fake politics. "His habit of using the figure fifteen in order to make tall and unrealisable promises is the premise of fake politics. Until the man learns that you cannot fool all of the people all of the time, I am afraid he will be proved wrong in Manipur where he thinks he can fool the people," Aiyar told ANI. Mocking at his claim of bringing Rs. 15 lakh each in everyone's bank accounts during the Lok Sabha elections, Aiyar said not even 15 paise have been received by anyone. "I have a feeling that Modi loves the figure fifteen, for in the Lok Sabha elections he promised us Rs. 15 lakh in each pocket within a 100 days but not even 15 paise have reached us," he said. Prime Minister Modi, while addressing a rally in Manipur's Imphal yesterday, said what the Congress did not do in fifteen years, his government would do in fifteen months. The Prime Minister also slammed Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Okram Singh for failing to resolve month-long economic blockade despite getting assistance from the Centre. "The Indian constitution dictates that the responsibility falls on the state government. The state government has the responsibility to provide essential commodities to the people. Isn't it the state government's responsibility to provide essential commodities such as sugar and salt, medicines and pulses? Still there are protests on the streets. People don't have grains. What kind of a government is that? This is a clear example of their failure," he said. (ANI)
