Manipur: One soldier killed, three injured in suspected IED blast

Tengnoupal (Manipur), May 8 (ANI): At least one soldier was killed and three others were injured when a suspected IED exploded on Monday morning in Lokchao area of Tengnoupal district here.

Manipur: One soldier killed, three injured in suspected IED blast
Tengnoupal (Manipur), May 8 (ANI): At least one soldier was killed and three others were injured when a suspected IED exploded on Monday morning in Lokchao area of Tengnoupal district here. The incident took place near Lokchao village located under Moreh Police Station. The unfortunate incident occurred when an army truck carrying army personnel's of 165 Bn of Territorial Army posted at the BRAVO company were returning back from the side Khongkhang to Lokchao post. The IED exploded when the army truck reached the spot which was one kilometer away from their post, leaving the truck damaged and one Jawan dead and another three injured. One civilian also got injured from the splinters of the IED bomb. It is reported that the IED was planted at the right side of the hill along the route. The injured were taken to Leimakhong Army Hospital by helicopter and whereas the civilian was evacuated to the local Shija Hospital. The police teams from Moreh including police commandos and 12 Assam Rifles personnel rushed at the spot and launched a massive search operation. (ANI)
