Manipur Govt. not clearing economic blockade for political gains, alleges BJP
Guwahati (Assam) [India], Dec. 26 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav on Monday alleged that the Congress Government in Manipur was not clearing the economic blockade in the state for political benefits, adding that Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh should have cleared the blockade. "The Manipur Chief Minister is playing games with lives of people of the valley. The government of India from day one asked him to avail all required support from Centre," Madhav said while talking to media persons. He said that the Centre was providing all help to the state government to clear the blockade. "The Manipur Chief Minister was asked to take help from forces and clear blockade, but blockade apparently politically suited him, so didn't do needful," he added. An economic blockade is being imposed by United Naga Council (UNC) in Manipur for several days, with violence rocking the state following formation of seven new revenue districts. Meanwhile, 10 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) companies have been deployed on ground and seven such companies will be on transit in the state. (ANI)
