"Mamata Banerjee is not running govt but running a mafia...": BJP leader Tejasvi Surya

"Mamata Banerjee is not running a government in West Bengal. She is running a mafia. This mafia is a danger to the country's internal security. It is a danger to the state's economy and it has already proven to be a danger to the security and welfare of the state's women and youth," BJP MP told ANI.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Tejasvi Surya on Monday attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that TMC leader is not running a government in the state but she is running a "mafia," and putting the country's internal security in "danger."
"Mamata Banerjee is not running a government in West Bengal. She is running a mafia. This mafia is a danger to the country's internal security. It is a danger to the state's economy and it has already proven to be a danger to the security and welfare of the state's women and youth," BJP MP told ANI.
Surya alleged that the TMC government has been providing infiltrators with Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and voter ID cards and has been "endangering" the internal security of the country.
"Today I visited Mathurapur and for literally kilometres, I could see infiltrators huntsmen and tenements on both sides of the roads. TMC government has been providing these infiltrators with Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and voter ID cards and has been endangering the internal security of the country. There has been a demographic change in so many villages, and so many districts of West Bengal only to increase and protect the vote bank of the TMC. This government after 2011 has added 71 castes to the OBC list, of these 71 castes, 65 castes belong to Muslim denominations. This just indicates the extent to which an assault has been made not only on the demography of the state but also on the Constitution of India. This is the kind of battle that people of West Bengal are facing," he added.
He further praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and said that the economy is growing at a fast pace under PM Modi's leadership.
"On one hand economy is growing at a fast pace under Prime Minister leadership. On the other hand, West Bengal is rapidly deindustrialized. West Bengal in the last five years figures among the state has attracted the least amount of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Young people from the state are forced to migrate to different cities seeking job opportunities. This state was once considered to be the pioneer on all dimensions of India. it was said that 'what Bengal thinks today, India thinking tomorrow.' This state has been reduced to this kind of a morass because of TMC and Mamata Banerjee's leadership," he said.
Tejasvi Surya exuded confidence that West Bengal will vote in massive numbers in favour of the BJP.
"I am very confident that this time around youth of the West Bengal will vote in massive numbers for the BJP's and Prime Minister's leadership and will lift the state of the morass that TMC has taken," he said.
In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, polling was held in Bangaon, Barrackpur, Howrah, Uluberia, Srerampur, Hooghly and Arambagh Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal.
Notably, elections in West Bengal are being conducted in all seven phases. The result of the elections will come on June 4. (ANI)
