Making all necessary arrangements for displaced villagers: Nirmal Singh
Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct. 22 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Saturday said the government is making all necessary arrangements for living and treatment of the people who were evacuated from their villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in the wake of unabated firing by the Pakistani troops. "Repeated ceasefire violations have caused damage and led to shifting of villagers. Our preparation is there since the beginning. I have spoken to the BSF IG. Today, they again breached ceasefire in which resulted damage (to civilians); they had done it yesterday as well," said the Deputy Chief Minister. "The BSF is doing their work as per the directions; and as far as the government is concerned, it is making arrangements for their lodging and security, and will provide proper treatment to the injured," he added. When asked about BSF Constable Gurnam Singh, who is critical, and whose family wants to shift him to Delhi for treatment, the Deputy Chief Minister Said, "We will take advice of the doctors treating him, and the government will take all necessary steps for our brave soldier." After seven Pakistani Rangers were killed by the BSF, Pakistani troops last night resorted to firing and shelling at many places along the International Border as well as LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling in R.S. Pura, Samba and Kathua sectors along the International Border and Poonch sector along the LoC. The Indian troops gave a befitting reply and exchange of fire at some places lasted up till wee hours today. In the wake of escalated tension some villages close to the border have been evacuated.
