"Mahua thrown out of Lok Sabha for speaking against BJP": Mamata

"Have you seen what they (BJP) did with Mahua (Moitra)? She has been thrown out of the Lok Sabha because she used to talk loudly (in Parliament). She used to speak against the BJP," the Chief Minister said addressing a public meeting at Nadia.

Nadia (West Bengal) [India], March 31 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Sunday that her party's firebrand leader, Mahua Moitra was thrown out of the Lok Sabha because she used to speak against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Have you seen what they (BJP) did with Mahua (Moitra)? She has been thrown out of the Lok Sabha because she used to talk loudly (in Parliament). She used to speak against the BJP," the Chief Minister said addressing a public meeting at Nadia.
Mahua was known for her fiery speeches at the Parliament in which she sharply attacked the ruling BJP.
Speaking about the recently held raids conducted by the Central Bureau of Intelliegence (CBI) at Moitra's residence at Kolkata, Banerjee said, "Her parents don't know about anything. They (CBI) have even raided their place. Their (BJP) only aim is to defeat Mahua come what may."
"You have to make her (Moitra) win, you have to make TMC win in Ranaghat as well. You have to vote for TMC and make us win in all 42 seats," the Chief Minister added.
The CBI recently conducted searches at Moitra's residences and other places in Kolkata in connection with an alleged cash-for-query case. This came after the Lokpal ordered the CBI to investigate all aspects of the allegations made against Moitra in the 'cash for query' case.
The Chief Minister also urged voters to vote only for the Trinamool Congress and not for any the Congress-Left alliance in the state saying that voting for them is the same as voting for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"In Bengal, CPM-Congress-BJP are against us. If you vote for the CPM, it means you are voting for the BJP. If you are voting for the Congress you are voting for the Congress. There is another Muslim party that has been formed. If you vote for them it means you are voting for the BJP," Mamata said.
"We are fighting alone. I have heard that the CPM and Congress are saying that they are fighting as part of the INDIA alliance. Here no alliance was formed. Here there was a scam. The CPM-BJP-Congress are on one side and the Trinamool is on the other side," the Chief Minister added.
Speaking about her ties with the INDIA bloc, Banerjee said "The all India INDIA bloc was formed by me, even the name was coined by me. After the vote, I will see..."
Mamata also added that if the BJP is confident that the NDA will win 400 seats in the election, there would not have been such abuse of central investigation agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
"BJP is saying that it will get 400 seats, if it is so then why are ED and CBI being used? BJP will lose badly in Bengal...," she said.
On the Citizenship Amendment Act, the Chief Minister said, "CAA and NRC will not be implemented in Bengal."
Meanwhile, TMC candidate from Krishnanagar Mahua Moitra said that everytime the BJP targets her, votes polled in her favour increase.
"People of India are watching and more importantly, people of Krishnanagar are watching. Every time they come after me, my votes are increasing," Moitra said. (ANI)
