New Delhi [India], October 25 (ANI): As politics heat up in poll-bound Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shaina NC said that the Mahayuti alliance is here to contest elections in the interest of the people while the "Maha Vinash Aghadi" is still grumbling.
Talking to ANI, Shaina said, "The Mahayuti alliance has worked unitedly to strengthen our coalition. Of the 288 Assembly seats, 278 have already been declared; the Shinde-led Shiv Sena has announced 45 candidates, while Ajit Pawar's NCP has announced 38 candidates and BJP has announced 99 candidates. We are here to contest elections for the people of Maharashtra in their interest and on the other hand the 'Maha Vinash Aghadi' is still grumbling."
The BJP leader further claimed that the opposition alliance leaders are busy pointing fingers on each other within their alliance.
"Every morning Sanjay Raut takes on Congress with some kind of analogy...Congress on the other hand is left in the lurch," Shaina NC said.
In preparation for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, a crucial meeting was held in Delhi on Thursday between Home Minister Amit Shah and leaders of the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare, among others, attended the meeting.
All three parties had already released their initial lists of candidates, but 106 seats remained unannounced. Among these, 20 to 25 seats were contentious, with claims from all three parties. This meeting aimed to address these disputes.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday exuded confidence in the Mahayuti alliance's victory in the upcoming elections and said the people of the state are aware of the developmental work done by them in the state.
Shinde Sena faction leader Sanjay Nirupam on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray, taking a dig at them, saying that Uddhav's Shiv Sena was struggling to secure seats in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. (ANI)
