"Mahagathbandhan will keep losing": Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary

"The Mahagathbandhan has been continuously defeated in the last three elections--2019 Lok Sabha, 2020 Vidhan Sabha, and 2024 Lok Sabha. These people will keep losing in the future under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Choudhary said.

Patna (Bihar) [India], April 17 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday lashed out at the opposition ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan) has suffered back-to-back defeats and will continue to lose under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain also criticised the Mahagathbandhan and called it a "complete flop show." Hussain also predicted that the alliance will suffer a big defeat in the upcoming elections.
"They have no motive to sit down. This is going to be a complete flop show because we are saying that we will go to the elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, but the people of Mahagathbandhan are not ready to say that they will go under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav," Hussain said.
Earlier in the day, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav met with Congress leaders to plan a strategy for the upcoming Bihar election.
"These leaders will meet, but it is not going to get hearts completely. The Congress party is against each other. The Congress party is not ready to consider Tejashwi Yadav a leader, and Tejashwi Yadav is not ready to give seventy seats to the Congress party," Hussain added.
He also said there are contradictions within the alliance. "One of his alliance partners, Mukesh Sahni, says that Tejashwi Yadav will be CM, and he will be Deputy CM. Then what will the people of Congress do? What will the people of the Left do? Will they make half a dozen Deputy CMs? Will you make a CM of one caste, then what are you going to think about those whose votes are taken? The equation is only 'MY'--i.e., you will become a leader and take the vote of one society and do not give them any representation. So, it is the "monkey share" taking place right now, whereas this alliance is going to lose badly," the BJP leader said.
Hussain further claimed, "This time, the RJD is going to get less than twenty-three seats. And our alliance, which will fight under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, is going to cross 200. We are definitely going to form the government in Bihar."
A high-stakes battle is expected in Bihar, where the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes Janata Dal (United) led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will face the Mahagathbandhan. The opposition alliance includes Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Left parties.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held later this year. (ANI)
