Patna (Bihar) [India], October 21 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) MP and National Working President Sanjay Jha on Tuesday termed the Mahagathbandhan an alliance marked by "selfishness", stating that their candidates are contesting against each other.
Jha mentioned that the opposition alliance can do anything for power and has understood the results of the Bihar assembly elections.
"The Mahagathbandhan is an alliance full of selfishness...Candidates of the Mahagathbandhan are contesting against each other. They can do anything just to be in power...They have also understood what the results will be...How will they work for the development of the state when they are not able to keep their allies together?" Sanjay Jha told ANI.
Sanjay Jha also cleared the air regarding the Chief Minister's face of the National Democratic Alliance, stating that there is no confusion on the issue. He said that the NDA has always reiterated that Nitish Kumar is the face and is leading the alliance.
"Nitish Kumar is our CM face...We have always reiterated that Nitish Kumar is leading the alliance. He is the face of the alliance...There is no confusion," Jha said.
The JD(U) MP further mentioned that the elections are bipolar, with the contest being between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
"The elections are bipolar. It is NDA vs Mahagathbandhan, and the public is aware of Mahagathbandhan. This is not something new. During the elections, many leaders join each other's parties...No one forces someone," he said.
NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
The Mahagathbandhan led by Rashtriya Janata Dal include Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
Meanwhile, polling in the Bihar 2025 elections is scheduled to take place on November 6 and 11, respectively, while the results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
