Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 30 (ANI): Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole said on Wednesday that the state has become the "ATM" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the "Mahabhrast" Mahayuti government has to be pushed out of power.
Patole also asserted that pushing the Mahayuti out of power is their duty.
"Maharashtra has become the ATM of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Looting from Maharashtra and taking it to Gujarat is what they do. That is 'Mahabhrasht' Mahayuti government has to be pushed out of power. This is our duty and that is what we are doing," he said.
Further, targeting the Mahayuti, Nana Patole said that they have still not completed seat-sharing as there are still some issues.
"They (Mahayuti) have still not distributed their seats completely. There are still some issues. So, the picture would be clear by 4th November," he said.
This comes after major differences emerged within the Mahayuti alliance over the candidature of NCP's Nawab Malik from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar seat.
BJP has opposed the nomination of Nawab Malik as an NCP (Ajit Pawar) candidate, with BJP leader Kirit Somaiya calling him a terrorist.
"Nawab Malik is a terrorist who tried to break India into pieces. He is Dawood's agent and Ajit Pawar's NCP has betrayed the country by giving ticket to Nawab Malik," said Somaiya.
Nawab Malik will now be up against the Yuti's official candidate Shiv Sena's Suresh 'Bullet' Patil with Samajwadi Party candidate and sitting MLA Abu Azmi the other heavweight in the fight.
However, Nawab Malik has expressed confidence in winning the upcoming assembly elections from the Mankhurd-Shivaji Nagar assembly seat despite opposition from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena Shinde faction.
"Bharatiya Janata Party or the Shiv Sena Shinde faction is opposing us is not a matter of concern for us. This is expected to happen and we will win with a huge margin in both assemblies," Nawab Malik said in a statement. (ANI)
