Madhya Pradesh: Shivraj Singh Chouhan meets CM Mohan Yadav, Prahlad Singh Patel

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and winning candidate from Vidisha seat, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday met CM Mohan Yadav and state cabinet minister Prahlad Singh Patel.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 5 (ANI): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and winning candidate from Vidisha seat Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday met CM Mohan Yadav and state cabinet minister Prahlad Singh Patel at CM House.

During the meeting, both were seen offering sweets to each other.
CM Yadav wrote on X, "After BJP's historic victory in the Lok Sabha elections, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Chouhan Shivraj made a courtesy visit to the residence today and congratulated on BJP registering victory on all 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh."
"I also congratulated him (Chouhan) for his unprecedented victory from Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency on the occasion," the CM further wrote.
Meanwhile, in a post on X, Chouhan said, "I met Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav at his residence today and congratulated him on BJP's huge victory on all 29 seats in the state."
State minister Prahlad Patel also congratulated Shivraj Singh Chouhan for winning Vidisha seat with a huge margin.
"I congratulated former Chief Minister Chouhan Shivraj who got a huge and historic victory from Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency by visiting his residence in Bhopal. His experience will be useful for the development of Madhya Pradesh," state minister Prahlad Patel said in a post on X.
Chouhan won from Vidisha seat by a record margin of 8,21,408 votes in the general elections 2024 on Tuesday, according to the Election Commission of India.
The BJP leader received a massive mandate of 11,16,460 votes while Congress's Pratap Bhanu Sharma stood at second place and managed to get 2,95,052 votes.
Besides, the Bharatiya Janata Party has made a clean sweep by winning all 29 seats in the state.
Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh were conducted in the first four phases of the total seven phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 19, the second phase took place on April 26, the third phase on May 7 and the fourth phase of polling concluded on May 13.
Polling for six seats each was conducted in the first phase and second phase, nine parliamentary seats went to the polls in the third phase and eight seats in the fourth and final phase of the state.
With 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, Madhya Pradesh ranks sixth among all states in terms of its representation in the Lower House. Of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved. (ANI)
