Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), [India], Mar 10 (ANI): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday accused the Kamal Nath-led Madhya Pradesh government of making ‘false claims’ and ‘time paas’.
“All that this government has done is talking. They should not crack jokes at least in the name of jobs. This government is running a 'samay katu (time paas)' campaign and waiting for the Lok Sabha elections,” he said commenting on the announcement of Nath’s announcement for a music band training school in Chhindwara.
“At times they (state government) talk of feeding cattle, at times they talk of playing bands because they know that if they don’t keep making such false claims, youth won’t wait (naujwan pratiksha nahi karega, wo band baja dega),” the former Chief Minister said talking to reporters here.
Touching upon the OBC reservation issue, Chouhan said, "OBCs should get the reservation. We are in favour of it but it should be implemented with proper constitutional process,” he said.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has approved an ordinance to increase reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) from 14 per cent to 27 per cent.
The move is seen as an effort by the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in the state to gain the support of the OBCs ahead of the coming Lok Sabha elections due to be held by May.
It also comes before the model code of conduct for the general elections which is set to be announced soon.
Chouhan also alleged that the ‘transfer industry’ continues to flourish. “Transfer ‘udyog’ is still running. SP, DMs have been reduced to a joke. This clueless government is making the entire state clueless and directionless,” he said.
He termed ‘Mahagathbandhan’ as ‘Mahathugbandhan (alliance of the cheats)’ and equated it with wedding procession without a ‘groom’.
Efforts are on to establish a Band Training School at Chhindwara, which will produce professionals for playing bands at marriages and other functions across the country, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath had said on March 9.
“I am trying for a band training school at Chhindwara. At so many marriages and functions, the band is being played. The people are excited about it. Hence, I want that those who participate in bands during wedding functions across the country should be from Madhya Pradesh,” he said. (ANI)
