Macmillan Education holds English Language Teaching workshops for teachers pan India
New Delhi [India], Dec.9 (ANI-Businesswire India): A market report (2011) by IMRB on teacher training in India indicates that 63 percent of teachers in private schools feel that English Language Teaching (ELT) training is a necessary part of professional development. Macmillan Education, a global ELT and Curriculum company, is working to remedy this in the K-12 segment, through its English language teaching resources and teacher training programmes. In Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and other cities of India, English teachers from over 400 leading schools participated in prestigious ELT workshops conducted by Macmillan Education. The workshops were conducted by the international ELT trainer Alan Mackenzie, Associate Director at Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), United Kingdom. Alan, with his extensive experience in teacher training programmes across British Council offices in East Asia and India, introduced the course on 'Teaching Young Learners'. He covered various approaches to language teaching and receptive skills in language learning. Senior teachers, who attended the workshops, spoke on the new learning they acquired during the session and how they planned to implement it into the classroom. With its global expertise and local understanding, Macmillan is well equipped to meet the need for quality ELT in our education system. Yash Mehta, Director, Macmillan Education commented, "English is an important employability skill today and Macmillan is committed to supporting teachers in their endeavour to develop English communication skills in their students."
