LS polls to be fought mainly between Congress and BJP: C'garh CM

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Mar 11 (ANI): A day after Lok Sabha election dates were announced, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday asserted that the forthcoming general polls are mainly between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Mar 11 (ANI): A day after the Lok Sabha election dates were announced, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said that the ensuing General Elections are going to be mainly between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"The Congress is prepared for the Lok Sabha polls. These elections are mainly between the Congress and the BJP. The promises made by the BJP and Narendra Modi were not fulfilled. Did the income of farmers increase? Did youth get jobs? The economy of the country got hampered due to demonetisation," Chief Minister Baghel said during a press conference.
Chief Minister Baghel further said: "New faces, youth, and women will get tickets. We fulfilled what we promised like returning the land to Tribals, debt waiver, and better support price for farm produces."
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday announced the schedule for the 17th Lok Sabha election, which will be held in seven phases beginning April 11. The final phase of voting will take place on May 19. The counting of votes will be done on May 23. (ANI)
