Giridih (Jharkhand) [India], September 23 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticised Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on Monday, stating it was unfortunate for the state that an elected CM ended up in jail. He also expressed disbelief at Soren's "shamelessness" for returning as CM after serving time in prison.
"The leader of the opposition (Hemant Soren) made his wife contest from this Assembly seat (Giridih), misleading the public with lies to make her the CM. But only lies were spoken. It is the misfortune of the state that an elected CM goes to jail because of his wrongdoings... And look at the audacity, after returning from jail, he becomes the chief minister again," CM Yadav said during a 'Parivartan Sabha' in Giridih, Jharkhand.
"This time, the public will not be deceived. Whatever the opposition does, the public has seen through them," he added.
"All the states benefitted from the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the Jharkhand CM's ego is such that he refused to cooperate with the central government for the development of Jharkhand. They have taken the wrong path, and I regret to say, as you sow, so shall you reap," the CM said.
Meanwhile, praising PM Modi, CM Yadav remarked that not only the people of India but even those from other countries wished for a leader like Modi.
"Not just the people of our country, but even the citizens of our enemy nations say they wish they had a leader like Narendra Modi," Yadav stated.
Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government's tenure is set to end in January 2025. However, the Election Commission has yet to announce the election schedule.
In the 2020 Assembly election, the JMM won 30 seats, the BJP secured 25, and Congress took 16. (ANI)
