Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the controversy surrounding arrangements during President Droupadi Murmu's visit to the International Santal Conference in Siliguri, alleging that the incident amounted to an insult to the highest constitutional office.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, JNUTA questioned the Ministry and the Central Government's position over the VC's remarks and the detention of the university students protesting against it.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated holi with common people at Ghantaghar Chauraha in Gorakhpur. CM Yogi Adityanath expressed happiness over the joyful atmosphere brought on the occassion of Holi, highlighting how such a festival is bringing in joy and enthusiasm while the world is in disarray. People in Vrindavan and Mathura celebrated Holi with full joy, dance and music. In Prayagraj, a large number of people gather at Loknath Chauraha to dance and celebrate Holi.

District Magistrate and Collector of Shahjahanpur, Dharmendra Pratap Singh, said that proper arrangements have been made for the peaceful celebration of the festival.
