Lok Sabha, Assembly by-polls in Goa on April 23

Panaji (Goa) Mar 11 (ANI): The polls for two Lok Sabha seats and the bypolls at three assembly constituencies in Goa will be held on April 23, said state Chief Electoral Officer Kunal here on Sunday.

Panaji (Goa) Mar 11 (ANI): The polls for two Lok Sabha seats and the by-polls in three assembly constituencies in Goa will be held on April 23, said state Chief Electoral Officer Kunal here on Sunday.
“The by-polls for Shiroda, Mandrem and Mapusa assembly seats will be held on April 23 along with the Lok Sabha polls. Nominations should be filed by March 28. The last date for withdrawal is April 8 and the counting of votes will be held on May 23,” said Kunal.
“As soon as the Model Code of Conduct is in motion, we have laid more emphasis on cracking down crime like gambling, narcotics etc. Even smuggling will be controlled severely,” Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rajesh Kumar told ANI. 
Kumar added that during the Model Code of Conduct, laws and rules will be enforced in a better way and even casinos would be on the check. (ANI)
