Kevadia (Gujarat) [India], Feb 29 (ANI): Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said "liberal Leftists" should not teach democracy, secularism and human rights to the BJP-led government and asked if they had ever talked about human rights of victims of terrorism and extremist violence.
"I would like to tell my liberal leftist friends - defeat us and form your own government. You do not teach us secularism, inclusion and human rights. Have you ever talked about the human rights of victims of terrorism and extremist violence? Never," he said at the India Ideas Conclave here.
He also took a dig at those who have expressed reservations over National Population Register (NPR) and accused them of hypocrisy.
"Some people say they will not show any document. It is fine. But they ask for evidence that Ram Lalla was born in Ayodhya in spite of the fact that the world has been believing it for thousands of years. This is duplicity, hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty," he said.
The theme of the sixth edition of India Ideas conclave, organised by India Foundation, is `New India: Turning to Roots, Rising to Heights'. (ANI)
