Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 30 (ANI): Union Minister of Heavy Industries H. D. Kumaraswamy on Monday offered prayers in Trichy Srirangam Ranganathasamy Temple.
Speaking to ANI on the MUDA scam in which Karnataka CM Siddarmaiah is allegedly implicated Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy said, "The matter is in the Court now. The Court has given its directions. Let us see the next development."
Earlier on Saturday, Union Minister Kumaraswamy criticised the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government over the alleged MUDA scam, accusing the administration of engaging in unethical practices by filing FIRs and arresting those who oppose them.
While addressing the media, Kumaraswamy alleged that the state government is plotting to implicate him. "The CM and his cabinet are trying to firefight the MUDA scam. This government has been involved in immoral practices by filing FIRs and arresting people who oppose them but why was a FIR not filed for 48 hours despite order being passed in Siddaramaiah's case. This government, including the Home Minister, are conspiring to frame me. They are conducting meetings with top cops and ministers to conspire against me," he claimed.
He further said, "Congress often accuses the Centre of misusing agencies, but in reality, it is the Congress government in Karnataka that is misusing its power here."
Kumaraswamy also said that the Chief Minister claims he is innocent and is not involved in any scam but in 2019, it came to light that there were over 50 cases registered against him in Lokayukta.
"Corruption has become rampant in the government but there are no talks about development in the state. Siddaramaiah claims he is a champion of the backward classes but has not done anything for them. I wouldn't have spoken today but the government is raking up cases which are over. The government is diverting focus from actual issues by involving me, blaming the Prime Minister and Finance Minister. Siddaramaiah and his government are mired in corruption, scams and controversies; therefore, they are diverting the attention of people," HD Kumarswamy said. (ANI)
