Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attacked the INDIA bloc, claiming that the leaders of opposition alliance are seeking votes for changing the Constitution to provide religion-based reservation.
"The leaders of INDI alliance are seeking votes so that they can change the constitution for providing religion-based reservation while I need 400 seats so that their (opposition's) intention of looting the reservations of ST, SC and OBC and making it religion-based can be buried," the PM said.
Addressing a rally at Aonla in Bareilly district, he claimed the Congress not only wanted to conduct an economic survey but also survey institutions and offices.
Notably, the Opposition is accusing the BJP-led NDA of aiming to win more than 400 seats (out of total 543) in the Lok Sabha elections to change the Constitution.
Referring to former PM Manmohan Singh's 2006 remark that minorities, particularly Muslims, have the "first claim" on the country's resources, the PM said, "If two people in a backward or Dalit family work, they will take away the job of one and give it to those whom they say have the first right on the country's resources."
Lashing out at the Samajwadi Party, the PM said that SP's 'Yaduvanshis' are performing 'aarti' of those who made fun of our Lord Krishna.
"I went into the sea with great devotion, I went there to seek the blessings of Lord Shri Krishna but Congress' 'shehzada' made fun of it. I am surprised that in Uttar Pradesh, the contractors of Samajwadi Party who call themselves 'Yaduvanshi' are performing the aarti of those who made fun of our Shri Krishna," he added.
The PM also claimed that Congress will snatch half of the people's hard earned money and give to their vote-bank.
"The INDI alliance of Samajwadi Party and Congress can go to any extent for appeasement. The dangerous claw of the Congress is going to snatch away the rights of the people. Congress intends at snatching away the reservation of OBCs and give it to the vote bank of their choice," he said.
PM Modi further said that both opposition parties- SP and Congress did not attend the Pran Pratistha at Ram temple in Ayodhya held in January this year due to their 'vote-bank politics'.
"Their (opposition's) ego is too big and they consider themselves even bigger than Lord Ram. Samajwadi Party and Congress were invited for Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha but they even declined that. They did this because their vote bank would have been upset with them," the PM said. (ANI)
