Sangrur (Punjab) [India], November 27 (ANI): On the occasion of Gurpurab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday started the pilgrimage scheme and flagged off first train from Akal Takht Sahib to Huzoor Sahib.
The Akal Takht is one of five takhts (seats of power) of the Sikhs. It is located in the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) complex in Amritsar, Punjab. Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib, is one of the five takhts in Sikhism. It is located on the banks of the Godavari River at the city of Nanded in the state of Maharashtra.
Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal was also present with Punjab CM at the occasion.
Bhagwant Mann said "Today is a holy day, we are celebrating the Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this day people start some new work or sacred work. This government is yours and hence we have decided to start the pilgrimage scheme from today. Its first train is going from Akal Takht Sahib to Huzoor Sahib today. Many people might have gone before but not everyone can go because there are financial problems. Today 1,040 people are going by the first train. There is AC train, food, doctor, everything is arranged. Today 300 devotees will leave for Huzur Sahib by train from Amritsar, 220 from Jalandhar and 520 from Dhuri Junction. I am lucky that Dhuri is both my birthplace and my workplace."
He further slammed the opposition parties in Punjab and said that hatred seeds cannot grow here.
"The land of Punjab is very fertile, anything can grow here but the seeds of hatred cannot grow. From today we are also starting Aata Dal Scheme. Will deliver it to people's homes. Their quality will be like the food of the rich. But recently when we faced problems in work, we went to the Supreme Court. The court ruled in our favor. The next session of the Legislative Assembly will be streamed live from tomorrow. You will see our elected representatives speaking in your favour," CM Bhagwant Mann said.
He emphasized that 2 lakh 92 thousand jobs are being created in the private sector in Punjab.
"Today I am standing in front of you after giving 37 thousand jobs. Two lakh 92 thousand jobs are being created in the private sector. Sukhbir Badal can also ask whether his grandchildren have also got jobs. I consider Punjab as my family. The people of Punjab are my uncles. They (opposition) have been saying anything, will say anything but I don't have to answer because you people are my lawyers, you are the ones who have to answer. When the public is a lawyer then recommendations do not work. In 2014, 2019 and 2022 also we have emerged victorious from here (Dhuri). Till now Punjab has been sold in pieces, we have to make it Rangla Punjab," he added. (ANI)
